(This was supposed to be posted after Valentine’s 2017 but I just never got round to it! Better late than never I suppose!)
I love any reason to celebrate anything, so when Valentine’s rolled around, I promptly thought of a reason to make it extra special (our last one before we’re married) and decided we should have a lovely night away.
Rather than spend lots of time and money going somewhere far, I took to Airbnb and searched on our own doorstep and found the cutest little barn conversion. Only half an hour away, perfect to get to after work, and in a lovely remote village with its own deli and pub, it was ideal, so I sent the link to my fiancé to get his opinion. The reply? “Love it, it’s booked, my treat.” Even better!

Somehow we have got to the third month of the year, how on earth did that happen?! Boy am I glad to see March and Spring on it’s way! I love the way the evenings are getting lighter, all the beautiful blooms are coming out and there’s just a much nicer feeling in the air.
As February came to a close I was thinking about the post I did back in January about the things I’m going to do differently this year. One of these was to try something new each month and I’m happy to report that I am on track! Granted, some are small things, but small new things none-the-less! So what have I been getting up to?

As some of you know, I have been struggling with sleep issues since a young age and I’ve finally decided to get it sorted (read more here). After a few visits to the doctor and a failed test for Sleep Apnea (you can read about that here) the doctor decided to send me off for a Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT). The aim being that they’ll be able to monitor my sleep overnight and then test me throughout a number of naps the following day to see my brain activity while I sleep. During the naps they will be looking for how long it takes me to fall to sleep, whether I go into REM sleep and how long I am in REM sleep for. It’s a test for Narcolepsy, something that they think I might have a mild case of. Either way, it should help them determine the best plan of action going forward.
I decided to write a little diary of the whole test so you can see what actually happened. It’s a bit of a long one – sorry!

We’ve been in our lovely first home nearly 3 years (where has that gone?!) and have been very slowly getting round to redecorating each room. The spare room has been left exactly how it was when we moved in, complete with the massive, heavy, awful (but useful) sofa bed that the previous owner left behind. It became a bit of a dumping ground-cum-clothes drying room-cum-storage room but guess what? We have FINALLY got round to redecorating it – yippee!
